Hey you!

The world around you is what you make it to be. It’s a reflection of your actions and behaviours and even more so of how you treat people. So, treating the people around you well will also reflect in your own life.

Give meaningful compliments to people around you

Compliment a Smile

Tell someone how much you like their smile. This might seem like a very small action, but compliments like this are often not common anymore.

It might leave a person confused at first, but when they sense that this compliment is genuine, it’ll brighten up their day more than you can imagine.

Smooth Conversation Starter

Tell someone you love their shirt, jacket or shoes and ask where they got them.

It’s a perfect conversation starter with people that you’ve just met.

Use this when meeting new people to ease into a conversation and start off smoothly.

Words Have Power

Words are the most powerful tool you have as a human being. You can start a war or make peace simply with words.

Complimenting someone in any way can really turn around their day.

One simple compliment can also affect one’s self-image and positively impact the way one sees and treats the people around them.

Turn Negative Into Positive

When someone you’re speaking with has a sour day, compliment them together with a smile and watch what happens.

You might find yourself the hero of the day for that person.

Break the Silence

Use compliments to break an awkward silence and re-ignite that conversation in a positive direction.

You can also use this to keep a conversation going but on a different topic when it grows dull.

Changing the Subject

If the conversation is awkward or negative, throw out a compliment in between to change the subject toward something positive.

Maybe even make them smile and brighten up the conversation just enough to brighten up both of your days.

Let\’s Reflect
Why is it important?

Self-reflection is the key to self-awareness. It allows you to look neutrally at your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and actions.

It is about questioning what you do and why you do it. Through this practice, you\’ll be able to look at yourself with newfound interest and curiosity.
